The Me I am Becoming: How to Promote Psychological Change in Individuals with Chronic Pain - Dr. Tom Lipinski

Dr. Lipinski has been a practicing psychologist for over 30 years and has a strong interest in the areas of anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.  In this presentation he talks about the journey that people with chronic pain need to make as they let go of their old selves, acknowledge their current selves, and move to a new persona focused on positive activities.

St. Paul's Hospital: Chronic Pain Program - Ms. Clare Lakes

Ms. Lakes is an occupational therapist by training and for the past ten years has worked at the Pain Centre at St. Paul's Hospital.  Her clinical interests lie in the area of the self-management of pain and promoting helpful behaviour change.  In this presentation she describes the Chronic Pain Program at St. Paul's Hospital including the outpatient and inpatient programs, the types of patients most likely to be successful, and some of the interventions that are used by program staff

Inflammatory Arthritis: Extraarticular Manifestations and Comorbidities - Dr. Angela How

Dr. How has been a practicing rheumatologist since 1984.  In addition to her private practice, she also works on the Young Adult Rheumatic Disease clinic, conducts clinics through the Travelling Consultation Service (TCS) in Hazelton and Smithers, and has been the chair of the Medical Advisory Committee to the Board of the Arthritis Society.  In this presentation she discusses the common extraarticular features and comorbidities related to inflammatory arthritis

Lupus 2010: What's New - Dr. Jennifer Reynolds

Dr. Reynolds is a practicing rheumatologist in the Lower Mainland of BC and is a rheumatologist on the St. Paul's Lupus Clinic.  In this talk she describes what we currently know about diagnostic criteria, epidemiology, screening, pathogenesis, and pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments.
