Joint Replacement Education classes are available in most hospitals where these surgeries are performed. For more information regarding joint replacement education classes, ask your orthopedic surgeon and the hospital where you are scheduled for surgery. Joint Replacement Education (Victoria only)

Early pre-operative education programs for those awaiting orthopaedic surgery are offered by The Arthritis Society. The program is offered by health care professionals at the Victoria Arthritis Centre. There are three education sessions over three weeks, covering topics such as changes to a joint affected by osteoarthritis, guidelines for safe and effective exercises, joint protection, medications, healthy eating, and pain management techniques. These classes are only for people booked for total knee replacement or total hip replacement surgery and referred by a surgeon.
